I have been a very big help to a number of people. But what I truely remember is helping out a family in a time of sorrow and crisis. I carried a large burden on my shoulder by caring for three small children who lost their mother and had a father who had abandoned them shortly after. The grandmother had to step in and take care of these children who had no one else. That is when I came into play by caring for them all summer long and throughout the school year when needed. This is still continuing, three years later. I have helped the children in many ways that the grandmother could not do at all or on her own. They look up to me as if I am their big sister. Recently, they have moved into a larger house; big enough for all 4 of them. And in effect the grandmother didnt have enough funds to pay me for the caring of the children. I feel blessed that they had someone like me to be there for them. This has been a huge learning experience for me and has helped me mature rapidly.
